Vladimir Valentinovich started coaching after 20 years of playing career in 2004, joining the staff of "Ural" Alexander Pobegalov. Five years later, the specialist moved to the position of head coach, which he held for a little less than a year (from July 16, 2009 to May 2010), and spent the 2010-2011 season as a breeder coach.
At the beginning of 2011, Fedotov headed the Novokuznetsk Metallurg-Kuzbass, which was playing in the PFL at that time. At the end of the season, the specialist led the team to the first division of the national championship. In 2013, due to financial and organizational problems at the club, Vladimir Valentinovich left his post.
In the summer of 2015, work began in the amateur club "Sinara", which performed at the regional level in Kamensk-Uralsk. In June of the same year, the specialist received an invitation to Orenburg Gazovik/Orenburg, with whom he worked until June 2017, and then returned as a head coach in August, having also managed to join the coaching staff of Moscow Ararat in the meantime.
Having headed Orenburg, Fedotov went with the team from 13th place in the FNL (according to the results of the first eight rounds) to the winner of the first division, breaking into the RPL and finishing the 2018/19 championship in a record seventh place for the club. During the next season, Vladimir Valentinovich headed our club, leaving Orenburg in December 2019.
Vladimir Fedotov, as the head coach of football "Sochi", has already played more than 50 games, surpassing the first coach of the club Alexander Tochilin by this indicator.
