Famous athletes together with students of football schools in Sochi participated in the cleaning of four city beaches. The mentors of the teams were ex-captain of the Russian national football team Alexey Smertin, famous boxer Dmitry Pirog, Olympic champion in athletics Yuriy Borzakovskiy, world champion Sergey Rozhkov.
After cleaning, the children went to the club base, where an environmental lecture and a quiz from the organizers took place. The lecture was also attended by guests from the RFU and representatives of the Sochi football club. A busy day for the guys will end with a children's mini-football tournament.
The organizers of the action were the Russian Football Union and the Sochi City Administration, with the support of the Sochi Football Club. "We believe that such actions are necessary for the city, because due to them, a correct, careful attitude to nature is formed in children from a young age. We are grateful to the RFU and the city administration for supporting such initiatives," said Alexander Kim, Head of the Sochi Development Department.
