Sochi Football Club appealed to the Lausanne Court of Arbitration for Sport

We inform you that our club, as well as three other RPL clubs – Zenit St. Petersburg, Dynamo Moscow and CSKA – have filed an appeal to the Lausanne Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against the decision of the UEFA Executive Committee of May 2, 2022 on the suspension of Russian clubs from participating in competitions under the auspices of the UEFA 2022/23 season.

The suspension of Russian teams from participating in European competitions contradicts the fundamental principles and objectives of UEFA, which are part of the strategy for the development of football in Europe, which leads to a violation of the integrity of the football ecosystem. Actions against Russian clubs are based solely on their nationality, contradict sporting principles and are inherently discriminatory, since Football ceases to be accessible to everyone.

We sincerely hope that the CAS decision will be in line with the sporting values defined by UEFA in its activities and the spirit of football competitions.
